Editorial policy

Open Science Compliance
Open data
  • In alignment with Open Science principles, RECIE promotes transparency, reproducibility, and accessibility in research. Authors are encouraged to share the data, code, methods, and other materials underlying their research, enabling verification and reuse of the information.

For data storage and dissemination, authors may use institutional repositories, specialized platforms, and other recognized open-access repositories, ensuring proper data citation following SciELO guidelines. If data cannot be shared due to legal or ethical constraints, authors must indicate this in the manuscript and provide alternative access options, such as making the data available upon request.

RECIE promotes the use of open and accessible formats for data publication, facilitating consultation and reuse in future research. Shared datasets should include a variable dictionary, a description of analytical procedures, and any relevant scripts or codes, ensuring transparency and replicability of results.

Preprint
Informed peer review
  • Peer Review Procedure
The articles will be evaluated through the double-blind peer review system. In case of disagreement between the reviewers, a third review will be conducted. To ensure maximum objectivity and consistency, the submitted manuscript must not contain elements that reveal the authors’ identity. The final publication decision lies with the journal’s director and editor, based on the reviewers' feedback. The peer reviews are conducted through the latest version of the OJS system.

    Review Process for Reviewers

    • Upon creating an account on the OJS platform, reviewers can register and indicate their areas of interest.
    • Reviewers must accept or reject the review request within 10 calendar days through the OJS system, where all communication will occur.
    • Upon acceptance, the reviewer will gain access to the submission and the online evaluation tool. The review process must be completed within 30 calendar days. Once completed, the reviewer submits the evaluation to the editor along with a document containing comments. The editor will review the feedback, send a thank-you email, and issue a collaboration certificate.
    • After completing the peer review process, the editor analyzes the reviewers' feedback and communicates the decision to the authors. The decision can be: accepted, conditionally accepted with revisions, or rejected. If revisions are required, the authors have 10 calendar days to submit the updated version.
