Abstract:
Science Fairs promote active and meaningful learning, stimulating curiosity, critical thinking, and the development of scientific skills in students. The objective of this article is to analyze the connections between aspects of student and teacher development in Science Fairs and the concepts of Vygotsky and Paulo Freire. This is an analytical literature review. The Introduction provides a brief historical overview of Science Fairs and their potential. The Methodology and Results section presents a comparative qualitative analysis, which includes the development of systematization tables. These served as the basis for subsequent discussions and inferences. The Conclusions ratify that the discussed findings achieve the proposed objective, yielding robust results that establish a close relationship between Vygotsky, Freire, and Science Fairs. Finally, the reasons for these findings and the future potential of this research are discussed.
