Open-access Exploring Fluid Magnetization: An Interactive Approach with Electromagnetics and Virtual Simulators

Abstract

This study presents an experimental practical work for learning electromagnetism through the magnetization of a fluid, using an electromagnet and virtual simulators with eleventh grade students. The population used was 198 students. Applying a standardized test of electromagnetism as well as fluids, in addition to a specific survey to 45 students on experimental practical work with the objective of identifying the different learning challenges presented by students in the field of physics, where it could be observed that the content has not been fully developed due to time factors or using only traditional methods, all these data managed to adapt the teaching. This practical and creative approach is designed to facilitate meaningful, engaging learning by combining hands-on experience with virtual simulators. It is expected to provide a rich educational experience that encourages active participation, as well as the implementation of hands-on experimental work to enhance students' understanding and interest in the subject matter, providing valuable opportunities for educational advancement by developing problem solving skills, critical thinking, and promoting a deeper and more enduring understanding of electromagnetism in eleventh grade students.
