Open-access Ética e inteligencia artificial en educación: Un análisis bibliométrico de tendencias y desafíos emergentes

Ethics and artificial intelligence in education: a bibliometric analysis of emerging trends and challenges

This is a descriptive and retrospective study based on a bibliometric analysis of scientific publications on the intersection of ethics, artificial intelligence (AI), and education. It aims to provide an overview of the current state of research, identify gaps, and suggest future directions. The study covers publications from 2020 to July 2024. 688 documents from the Scopus database were analyzed to identify publication trends, leading journals, emerging topics, and collaboration patterns. The results reveal rapid growth in the field, with a peak in publications in 2022, followed by a consolidation phase. The central themes at this intersection are privacy, equity, and transparency in the integration of AI in educational contexts. A strong trend towards interdisciplinary collaboration is observed, with 78% of the documents written in co-authorship, and a diversity of methodological approaches was identified, ranging from theoretical studies to empirical research and systematic reviews. The intersection of these concepts has had a significant impact on academic discourse. Particular attention is drawn to the need for more longitudinal studies and participatory approaches in the design and implementation of AI systems in education.
