Abstract
The general objective of this study was to determine the relationship between the professional practice of teachers and the acquisition of competencies with the mediation of ICT in high school students. The theoretical references of this paper are focused on Freire's (1999), educational theory and its combination with new technologies in the 21st century. This is a study under a quantitative approach whose research method was deductive, in order to broaden the participation of the research population and appropriately deepen the premises. Therefore, a research process was developed that facilitated the establishment of the relationship between the constructs of teacher training, use and management of ICT and the acquisition of knowledge by students in the teaching and learning process; as well as the relationship between these and the sociodemographic variables of the population under study. Therefore, these data, after being subjected to statistical probability processes, allowed, beyond explaining this social reality in the educational field, to generalize the results to broader populations and situations.
