Abstract
The study of innovative teaching strategies implemented to promote and build meaningful learning in the sciences of security and defense is fundamentally documentary with a qualitative, non-experimental approach. It focuses on highlighting the importance of the actors in the teaching and learning process, categorizing the teaching strategies and presenting a list of innovative strategies, both teaching and learning, applicable to training and education in the aforementioned sciences. Among the proposals, the need for the teacher to inductively analyze the educational purposes is highlighted, up to the global scope in order to make the selection of teaching strategies. In addition, the importance of assuming them as processes that must be guided on the one hand, and self-managed on the other hand, is highlighted.
